Dunno what to write

So, anyways I don’t know what to write. People seem to think I should put things here. would like to. but. dunno. today. nothing is coming.

Kinda weird really. the past while I have been dumping them up there 3 at a time.

Not that I really put much in the way of original content or anything thought provoking. I have no children to take pictures of and for a while now have not accomplished anything worth mentioning.  So. ig.

Cheese Pizza.

Coke is fun ’cause…

when you drink it fresh, fast and
cold it makes your eyes water and
you can’t breathe

It is brown and fizzy and bubbly

its got lots of acid

when you drink it and laugh at the
same time it will spew all over and
some will go up your nose and you
will get a really weird itchy feeling
that you can’t contain and then you
just gotta go berserk

it refreshes you best

when you open up a can it makes the
awesomest sound

Thanks to Cheryl for that.

Story of A Boy

I have a little story of a boy I’d like to tell.
Who had imagination, that worked so very well.

I drew a little picture, of a house upon a hill.
With lots of little people about to take a spill.

From the clouds above, a foot of giant size.
About to bring to people their very own demise.

A winding road of dirt or even that of gravel.
Leading to a road, more people tend to travel.

Apon a tiny curve, a house was cruddely drawn.
But only one could see it, settled by the lawn.

I lied, I admit, i said could not see.
I said your both weird, and asked if I could leave.

The other that was with me, said was nothing there.
The boy was perplexed and pointed at the square.

Can’t you see the house? Its right there on the page!
The fact that he was serious was not that hard to guage.

More denials later, we claimed there was no house.
It may seem to you that we were quite a louse.

Convinced this boy, this house we really  could not find.
I said your all nuts, he thought that I was blind.

But this story i afear, is not that good.
If you think about it, what was understood?

Questions raise about this boy, nameless he shall be.
About his mind and concept, of reality.

What am I doing?

What am I doing, why do I care?
What is the reason for my blank stare?

Where am I going, and where have I bean?
Where are the places I try to be seen?

When Will I finish this road I am on?
When will my fears and burdons be gone?

Why have I done the things I have done?
Why have I not been the perfect of sons?

Who is it, I try hard to be?
Who Is it, that everyone sees?

Pizza Pops, Chocolate Cheese Cake and a Small Rodent.

I don’t know how it began, late last December on the shores of Cincinnati, but a trio set out to prove to the world that the unlikeliest of allies could do great things. On tonight’s episode we see them under my chair.

What other adventures will they have on "Pizza Pops, Chocolate Cheese Cake and a Small Rodent."? Tune in next time to find out.

Beauty and the Mass Media

Everywhere we look we see pictures, on the television, the internet, movies, billboards, buses, and even the odd power pole. Whether or not we even consciously aware of these images does not effect the impact they can have in our lives. Young people before they are released into the wild to fend for themselves are especially susceptible to messages they receive from mass media.

They don’t have to say anything. The images speak for themselves. All the media has to do is barrage their audience with any idea of beauty they want, and the masses will follow.

But what is beauty? Stealing the definition from www.answers.com we get the following:

  1. The quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses and is associated with such properties as harmony of form or color, excellence of artistry, truthfulness, and originality.

  2. One that is beautiful, especially a beautiful woman.

  3. A quality or feature that is most effective, gratifying, or telling: The beauty of the venture is that we stand to lose nothing.

  4. An outstanding or conspicuous example: “Hammett’s gun went off. The shot was a beauty, just slightly behind the eyes”

Beauty is largely undefined, it is in the eyes of the beholder, which means every person can and will have their own definition. The problem occurs, when a common source with their own definition realistic or otherwise, influences the definition or perception of beauty in others. In our society one common image of beauty is constantly portrayed. This image is ingrained in our minds. It is a double edged sword, it is not only what we strive to be, but it is now what we look for in others, which simply perpetuates the problem.

It is no mystery why people often endeavor to obtain the sometimes impossible image of beauty that they have in their minds. When they see the images of “beauty” they feel that is what they should look like and people with poor self image can be driven to “improve” themselves. This is reinforced by peers who seeing the same images, accept it as their own vision, and expect it in others.

Images of beautiful people are used to sell everything from bubble gum to houses. It is no wonder that these images of beauty can take over a persons life. Everywhere we look, all we ever see is what the media wants us to.

I will give you another definition: Fascism. (most people don’t know the meaning I have found)

  1. often Fascism

    1. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

  2. A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.

  3. Oppressive, dictatorial control.

I like the third definition, Oppressive, dictatorial control. Is it not true that at this point there is very little if any opposition to sometimes oppressive image of beauty that the media has dictated?

We are all part of the problem. We constantly reinforcing the negative stereotypes. Although it is not easy or possible to simply ignore the media, it is possible for us educate others, and ourselves in what true beauty is. The media would have us believe that the outward appearance is all that matters. But we know better don’t we? We know that beauty is only skin deep. We know that whats inside is what matters, don’t we?

I suggest that we might not. I know many of us flip through magazines, or tv channels, marveling at how attractive the various people are. Are we not perpetuating the stereotype right there?

Above is my Social commentary about beauty and the mass media. Kimberlea gave me the topic,  "Beauty and why people always have to think they have to look good and try to match up to media." I strayed from the topic a bit,  but never the less is more or less valid.

Some silliness

The expected blog is going to have to be postponed for now. So, Until it is ready I leave you will some none-sense I found on an assignment I did for some class having to do with databases at SIAST.

Ted was here. And for that reason alone they forced him to write a paper on absolutely nothing. Although this may seem to be weird the cow ate some spaghetti at the zoo. That is also weird cows are sometimes and the doorknobs are green. Ted was here. This is weird and I think that there is a doorknob. To this there is no reason and for that there was no cows. Once upon a time there was an easterbunny that ate a bunch of frogs. Although that is shy the cows are green the easterbunnies all jumped off a cliff. Today is no exception and the cows are eating again.

I certainly hope I did not hand that in, but you never know. considering some of the stuff I have done I would not be very surprised if I did.
