Oranges, pizza and raspberry sake

It is almost Christmas. infact it is but a few hours. 5 depending on the time zone. I am currently in Alberta so it may be a few more minutes then my normal time.

Upstairs at the moment peoples are making a lot of noise. Singing Christmas carols. I hate Christmas carols. I have also decided to hate Lisa’s keyboard and for some reason my mySQL server that holds the contents of my website.

Lisa as I have no doubt you already know had a new little one. Much littler then the other one that is running around. Who(the secondest little one) I may add is very excited with the peoples. However as it is with small peoples they will actively run away from me. I have after all been good at scaring small children.

The new one currently in incapable of doing so.

The name as you may or may not have heard was also finalized at Cailyn Noelle Schmidt.

For A point of comparison here is Rebecca: http://the-schmidt-house.blogspot.com/2006/07/introducing-rebecca-elizabeth.html

I did finally get some Christmas shopping done, and my apologies to those that I missed. Including the cat. However the cat may be happy to know I also neglected to get the dog(s) anything.

I did however also re-purpose my Christmas gift for the new one as a birth present ish.

So she does not get anything as well.

I have developed a new race in moo 2. It may be my new favorite. I mean If  you are isolationist. You may as well be repulsive as well. or so I hear.

If I am not careful I may end up playing wow again. But in the mean time I must redisign the wheel. Mine keep ending up flat.

speaking of wheels I dont know what the status of my car is. It ran al the way to my parents, however one of the tires was low and oil was leaking out of random orifices. The battery was low and no doubt a couple of gremlins were hiding out under the back seat.

Speaking of which I found gremlins. at CD Plus, confed mall. There are no more.

and it is a very good movie.

so there.

it is warm in lethbridge. -7ish. In saskatoon it is -24 and somewhere it is +25. but not around here. my computer at the moment is running at +47.

I don’t like ODBC.

apparently I have to go. so about the orages, pizza and sake later.

It is all your fault.

Well. maybe not you. But definitely the person to your left.

I hate Christmas shopping. Or possibly I just hate last minute Christmas shopping.

I don’t have anything for Alison. Lisa is giving me issues. Cheryl may have to share with Karl. Jeanette may have to be happy with "Practical" Gifts. Sigh.

My sisters hate me.

NEXT YEAR give me exact descriptions of what you want. Including prices, UPC codes, maps to stores that carry said gift and a list of alternates in the off chance the exact product is unavailable.

I may work on something to help you with that. Gift Registry Dot Com. Look for it.

or something.

I don’t remember what I have for dad. Mother may have to live with chocolate. and In-laws. hm. Thats it DVDS for everyone.

Anyone have BlueRay? or better yet HDDVD, whatever is left over is SO CHEAP.

Sigh. I will have to finish in Lethbridge I guess.

CupCakes

So. It was a long story.

Saturday December 13.

I wrote an exam.

Less then five hours later I was on my way to work.  However my car would not start. It barely even turned over. Poor thing cried and made a lot of noise. I went back to bed.

Monday December 14.

I tried to study (yeah right) so my car did not exist.

Monday December 15.

I wrote an exam. Later I tried to get my roommate to give me a boost. The car made an awful lot of noise but did not start. I borrowed his car for a while. But it just wasn’t the same.

Tuesday December 16.

It was warm. er. I waited for my room mate to get home. He was late. He did not come home alone. I wanted to borrow his car, but he had other plans. I tagged along for a few hours. When we got home he boosted my car once again, and it started fine.  I parked the car in my spot and let it run for half an hour. I turned it off, but it would not turn back on. I pulled out my charger and hooked it up. I waited until the charger thought it was done. The car started fine.  I did some tests and concluded that the alternator was functioning. It was the battery, or something connected to it. One of the cables was loose, however it was as tight as the connector would allow, so I wrenched to the side to get as much contact as possible. I went to the mall. I came out of the mall and to find I had left the lights on. Naturally the car wouldn’t start. I called my roommate. Twice. I called CAA, I didn’t know my cell number, but they were busy anyway. I called my roommate again. I finally got ahold of him, He would come and give me a boost. Only problem. My cables were in the trunk. The lock was frozen, and there was no power to the trunk release. I wandered back inside to find jumper cables or something. No such luck. Instead I wandered through the store formally known "radio shack" and seek out wires and such. I figured I could rig something together to get enough power to open the trunk. My roommate had other plans. Instead we went to Canadian tire, where I bought a new set of cables. I will probably repackage and give them to someone. Later we finally made it back to the car where we boost and waited for the car to warm up. I drove home and parked it in the stall.

Wednesday December 17.

I wanted to do some shopping. My car does not work. The thought was nagging at the back of my mind. I looked up the bus schedule and rooted around for change. I got back later and stared out my window. Should I try the car? Would it run? meh. Another two bus fares later I was back home. Not to think of the car again until the next day.

Thursday December 18.

I went to plug in my car. I figured whatever I will see how this thing works when warmed up. I could not find the plug. I had a block heater right? It occurred to me that I had not ever checked. Last winter it never broke minus 20 Degrees. Opening the hood, which has gotten even more difficult as of late, I rooted around and found what looked to be  an electrical cable. Pulling it out I found no plug attached. Fortunately I had a plug inside so I attached it. I stood back as I plugged it in. I half expected the car to explode. Nothing. I opened the hood. No buzzing noise. No flames. No beeping. All seemed to be going well. I went in doors and waited. Three hours later I wandered outside and started my car. It hesitated but started normally. I let it run ten minutes and shut it off. I wanted to see if the battery was holding any charge. It started fine. I figured what the heck may as well do some shopping. My roommate had other plans, so I never had the chance to become stranded in yet another parking lot.

Friday December 19.

I will find out if my car will get me to work and back.

My car hates me.

And -30 degree weather.

I tried to go to work and my car froze solid. I tried simply to get a boost, in case it was just my battery not liking the weather. But no. however now that it is only -20 it starts fine.

I think it is just lazy.

But now I get my stall back so I can plug it in.

wooo.

Gremlins

Who knew Gremlins and Gremlins II would be so hard to find? I checked all three walmarts (including their bargain bins). Super store (confed). VH1? at Lawson. London Drugs at Lawson. Zellers at Lawson. Future shop on-line was kind enough to say they were out of stock and may never possibly ever have it again. I rooted through literally thousands of titles including such classics as TransMorphers and Cocoon. But no Gremlins of any sort. I mean, come on people. It is a classic. It even has Steven Spielberg’s name on it. Sheesh.

The best final in the world.

I finally failed a final.

At least I think this is the first time.

And no. I have not gotten it back and no, I am also not exaggerating.

I failed.

Simple math.

60% of exam completed.

Average mark for similar questions (WITH A TEXTBOOK!!) 80%

calculated mark 48%

realistic-optimistic 30%

realistic-pessimistic 20%

So. I failed.

But. It was Ukrainian. so I don’t actually care. I probably should have at least attempted to learn some of the words.

I know about 5.

Well. maybe closer to 25, but not nearly enough to actually write a conversation.

Sigh.

I expect between 50% and 60% overall. but I forget the mark breakdown. If I remember most was assignments and participation.

I hope.

I got a maximum 92% on my physics final.

Which sucks. stupid small errors.

that is one I should have gotten 100%

And that estimation is not including stupid small errors I did not realize after the exam.

Next I have to write 3 math exams in a row.

But for some reason I have been assigned to mark 40 assignments for Comp Sci.

which I have to get done before my exams.

So. no studying for me.

not that I do that evil stuff anyway.

yeah.

I should do Christmas type shopping soon.

my room mate tried to make jam.

It did not work.

I told him it probably would not work.

he does not really follow instructions.

plus he has no idea how jam works

so, he has a very runny syrup.

he also did not sterilize his jars.

hot tap water is enough apparently.

it is fixable. but. I don’t know if he will.

oh well.

I need more skittle brau.
